At North Country Bed and Breakfast we feature 4 bedrooms, one suite and a Ready Room which is our community/gathering room, outfitted with a pool table, tables and chairs, TV with VCR/DVD, microwave and its own restroom. It’s a great place to start or end your day. Wifi available in every room.

 The Denali Suite:
Contains a sitting room with closet, a private bath with Jacuzzi tub, and a bedroom with a huge, king-sized bed made from local logs.

The room is decorated with actual equipment used by the old “Sourdoughs” who homesteaded, mined, and trapped the Trapper Creek area many years ago. The room’s most spectacular feature is its view to the north, over the lake, toward the Alaskan Range and, of course, Mt. McKinley. Called “Denali” by Native Alaskans, which means “High One,” the mountain is the highest on the American Continent. At 20,320 feet above sea level, Mt. McKinley dominates the 600 mile-long Alaskan Range providing a beautiful backdrop for viewing the large mammals that roam freely, the incredible natural vistas created by the mountains, valleys, and glaciers themselves, or the thousands of species of flora that grow here. From the Denali Suite, you can sample all of these - literally without leaving your bedroom.

 The Howling Wolf:
The Howling Wolf room contains a queen bed, TV and a private bath.

It is hard to think of Alaska without visualizing a howling wolf. Though wolf sightings are not common near populated areas, wolves continue to live in this beautiful north country area.

This room gives visitors a closer look at this majestic creature. We can’t guarantee you’ll see a live wolf, but this room will certainly put you in a wilderness mood.

 The Bush Pilot:
The Bush Pilot room contains a queen bed and a twin bed, TV and a private bath.

This room is often requested by the many pilots who stay with us. Both aviators and non-aviators alike get a kick out of the bush plane parts and pieces, and other aviation memorabilia that hang on the walls. For aviators, the room conjures up memories of past flights and “There I was…” stories. Coming from aviation families, we love to hear about the exploits of other pilots and can provide a few stories of our own!

 The Sourdough:
The Sourdough room contains a queen bed and a twin bed, TV and a private bath.
It gives its visitors a glimpse of the “tools of the trade” used by early miners and trappers to the region. This room faces the woods, and several of our guests have reported seeing moose and other critters from the window.

  The Arctic:
The Arctic room is furnished with a queen bed, TV, and a private bath.

It has an arctic theme representing the northern most region of Alaska. It also faces the woods giving our guests opportunities for wildlife viewing from the comfort of their own room.

 The Ready Room:
The Ready Room is our community/gathering room, outfitted with a pool table, tables and chairs, TV with VCR/DVD, microwave and its own restroom. It’s a great place to start or end your day. You can grab some brochures and maps to plan your next adventure, suit up for a day on your snow machine, or just unwind with some pool and a good video. We also serve a continental breakfast here. Or with advance notice, we can whip up a hot breakfast, with the usual fare being homemade blueberry pancakes (berries from our property) and reindeer sausage. Menus for area restaurants are also available in the Ready Room.
